Julian Construction Warns Public: Check Credentials Of Contractor

Foundation Company Is Urging Home Owners to Take Steps To Verify Standing First

Julian-logoLOS ANGELES, CA: Julian Construction Inc. (http://www.julianconstruction.com), a foundation repair and foundation construction company in the Los Angeles area, is warning homeowners to seriously look at the credentials and identity of a foundation contractor, or any other contractor, before trusting them to work on their house.

Julian De La Torre, founder of the company, stated: “As a consumer, if you see a contractor that has no license number you should be concerned, and do further investigation, as this is a red flag. Also as a consumer you should note the license number itself. For example, our number starting with 788, is 10 years plus old. A license that starts with say 876, would be around about 4 years old. A license that starts with 918, would be only two years old and so on. This lets you know if the company has experience or is new to the business of construction.”

He further stated: “Some contractors just use a PO Box, a garage or a small office. The concern here is that it tends to indicate that they have not been in business long, or possibly that they are just paper contractors. So as a consumer, drive by the place of business and ask, does this look like a construction company? Check for a license and verify the number. Make sure they have been around a while.”

Julian Construction owns its own company and is built on a “no middlemen” model – no salesmen, no subcontractors. When you work with Julian Construction you get the principals of the company and workers of Julian Construction under your home. The result is the highest quality work at affordable prices. Aero & Marine Tax Professionals Helps Fastener Company Obtain Tax Exemption

Company Highly Pleased At Receiving Sales Tax Exemption on The Purchase Of New Plane

Cirrus-turbo-gts-smallSACRAMENTO, CA: Aero & Marine Tax Professionals (http://www.aeromarinetaxpros.com), a professional tax firm in Northern California, has helped a wholesale fastener distributor company obtain a sales tax exemption on the purchase of a Cirrus airplane for use in traveling to business meetings in destinations across the US. The sales tax exemption was obtained from the California Board of Equalization on behalf of the company.

An executive of the company stated “We use the aircraft for visiting customers, vendors, going to trade shows, and visiting our sales manager in Wyoming. It's a lot more convenient flying yourself. Some of the destinations are much more difficult to get to via commercial airlines, especially when you would have to fly to a remote airport and then rent a car to do a long drive. Or worse, fly a commuter airline which is a lot more expensive. I can do in four hours what would take a day to do on commercial airline. I can go, do business, and then get back in one day where it would take one day just to get there by commercial airline.”

“Aero and Marine Tax Professionals held my hand and had patience. I did get upside down at the beginning, they had sent me a packet of information, and I had made a mistake, only copying one side of the packet of information they had sent me. Once they got me straightened out on that, I did do well and they caught a couple of my other errors. I would absolutely recommend Aero & Marine Tax Professionals! You can tell others that they just saved Jim Law at Ababa Bolt $60,000 on the purchase.”

Tom Alston, founder of Aero & Marine Tax Professionals, said “It’s pretty much your safest option to call us if you are even considering buying an airplane. Many people don’t realize how many ways it can go wrong in obtaining a sales tax exemption on the purchase of an aircraft. Well, we know all the ways, and more importantly we know how to make it go right.”

Aero & Marine Tax Professionals shows purchasers how to avoid sales tax, specifically how to avoid aircraft tax and vessel tax in California and to make certain the full value of their next aircraft, vehicle or vessel goes into their pocket--not the government's. They have successfully filed hundreds of tax returns with the California State Board of Equalization. Mr. Alston has also published many articles on sales and use tax. Aero & Marine Tax Professionals Get Aircraft Tax Exemption for TV Production Company

TV Production Company Very Pleased With Sales Tax Exemption on Aircraft Purchase

800px-PIPER_PA46-310P_MALIBU_smallSACRMENTO, CA: Aero & Marine Tax Professionals (http://www.aeromarinetaxpros.com) have assisted a TV production company in securing a sales tax exemption from the California Board of Equalization on the purchase of a PA-46-310P Malibu aircraft.

An executive from the company stated: “I'm in the TV production business, and I do a lot of TV production throughout the states of Nevada, Arizona, California, and New Mexico. The locations we film at are primarily places that commercial airlines just don't go to. We just couldn't do it in a commercial setting.”

“The experience with Aero & Marine Tax Pros was incredibly simple, professional, and most importantly, successful! Everything went smoothly, their staff was in constant communication and updating what I needed to do each month to get you the documentation. I would absolutely recommend Aero & Marine Tax Pros to others. I would actually make the argument that anyone that does not seek out and find these services is making a mistake, and then not specifically using Aero & Marine is making a secondary mistake. A lot of pilots think that there is only one way to get out of having to pay the California state taxes, and that is that you have to base your aircraft in another state for 12 months. They're not aware of this intra-state tax exemption route, none of the pilots are aware of this option. It's getting the word out that you don't have to leave your plane out of the state for a year.”

Aero & Marine Tax Professionals is a pre-eminent tax firm specializing in aircraft and vessel purchases. The company helps individuals and corporations avoid paying California sales and use taxes when buying an airplane or vessel. Their unique knowledge and expertise has resulted in regular referrals from attorneys and accountants throughout the nation.

Tom Alston, owner and founder of the company, stated “We want people to be aware of the consequences of dealing with the California Board of Equalization, because in many cases a person who may have been expecting a sales tax exemption finds they do not qualify. When a client follows our instructions to the letter, we can guarantee that sales tax exemption on the purchase of an aircraft.”

Aero & Marine Tax Professionals Win Case For Tax Exemption On Jet

Real Estate Firm Gets Tax Exemption On Jet Thanks To Aero & Marine Tax Professionals

Exterior2-Citation-CJ1SACRAMENTO, CA: Aero & Marine Tax Professionals (
http://www.aeromarinetaxpros.com), a firm specializing in sales tax on aircraft and marine vessels in the state of California, recently helped a real estate agent and real estate development company obtain a sales tax exemption on a Cessna jet from the California Board Of Equalization, this most recent case that maintains their perfect record.

An executive from the real estate company stated: “The business use of the aircraft is to look for business opportunities outside of California in real estate and real estate development. Sometimes we would be looking at multiple properties over multiple days, and it would be problematic to run that around an airline schedule. The jet is fuel-efficient. The parts are readily available and Cessna has multiple service centers across the country. In working with Aero & Marine Tax Professionals, I always received calls back in a timely manner. They were professional, and very competent, very knowledgeable and very fast.”

Tom Alston, president of the company, stated: “Well we pride ourselves on efficiency. That is really the difference between when we go in on a case versus someone who doesn’t know this field, doesn’t have experience working with the California Board Of Equalization. We have, so we can be efficient at it, and that’s why our case record is perfect.”

Christmas Fireplaces

By Jo Lauricella

Today Southern California is having our version of a “cold snap.” Yes; I can already hear the groans and the “wimp” comments. But when one is used to temperatures above 40 at night and above 60 during the day, high 30s to low 60’s is COLD! Below zero is completely unreal. I grew up in the Midwest; I know you can survive it. (But I didn’t have to like it!) I have a friend from Iran (where 100 degrees is a comfortable day), she relishes these cool days. I wonder how she would feel about being in Wisconsin in December.

Do merchants celebrate the cold L.A. weather the way Midwestern merchants do? No not really. You see in the Midwest the worse the weather is, the more into the Christmas Spirit people get, and off to the Mall they go. It is just the opposite in Southern California, if it is rainy and cold, people stay home. Our recent damaging gale force wind storms did not improve our Christmas shopping spirit. Once the sun shines and we can leave our jackets at home, Angelinos will be out in droves! A rule of thumb for Christmas shoppers, if you are in the Midwest, wait for a bright (preferable unusually warm) day, the Mall will be empty. The opposite is true for Los Angeles.

There is one type of shopping this weather is good for—fireplaces. Fireplaces are an important item of interest. Children want to know if it will work for Santa. Parents want to hang Christmas stockings and have cozy fires. At chimney companies, we get the calls: “every time we light a fire, we get smoke in the house.” On the inside I am groaning. Why? They waited to call. It is already well into December. A romantic fire on Christmas Eve may have to happen (after a reliable repair) on Christmas Eve, 2012.

We ask, “When did you last use the fireplace? Did it smoke the last time?” These may seem innocuous but they open up a whole realm of possibilities. We hope that they forgot to pull open the damper. We ask if the grate that holds the logs is only an inch from the back wall of the fireplace, with our fingers crossed. We diplomatically ask does it smoke every time, or only when a certain person lights it.

It is Christmas, people want big roaring fires, but they only have small fireplaces that allow for a gentle glowing burn. Some insist that if they put the grate all the way back, no one will see the fire. Unfortunately too big a fire or a fire too close to the opening causes smoke to go where it is not welcome! This is not only unpleasant, it is unhealthy and unsafe.

If the caller has already used the above remedies without success, then we will work out the correct most economical chimney and fireplace repair that will insure next Christmas Eve will see a beautiful romantic fire warming the stockings hanging from the mantle.

We hope your fireplace is in reliable and safe operating mode. If it is not, make sure you play it safe and get some professional chimney help. Here’s to a happy, safe and healthy Holiday Season for all.

Big Trees, Inc. Saves Seattle Viaduct Maples In Replacement Project

Company Helps Save Large Trees From Certain Fate At Site Scheduled For Demolition And A New Tunnel.

SEATTLE, WA: Big Trees, Inc. (http://www.bigtreesupply.com/) has assisted in the relocation and saving of several large maple trees from the Seattle Viaduct project site, which site was slated for destruction, making way for a new tunnel. The large trees were relocated to a nearby construction site built by The Port of Seattle.

Big Trees, Inc. was requested to help with the replacement project in an attempt to save the trees, a group of large, columnar, fall colored maples measuring at 30-35’ tall. The trees were carefully dug, prepped with burlap and drum-laced with rope. Then the trees were rigged, lifted and loaded on a flatbed truck and trailer to be transported and off-loaded in the various planting areas staked out at their new home.  The project went so well with the first twelve trees, the Port requested additional trees be moved.  Once all trees were out of harms way near the Viaduct demolition, they were replanted in 3-4 large planting areas at a new road construction project the Port of Seattle had just completed off East Marginal Way South, near the West Seattle Bridge.

Ross Latham, owner of Big Trees Inc., stated “We were very pleased that the project came off with such success. Now with the relocation the new Port of Seattle project will have immediate large trees, adding an instant mature look for the new roadside planting areas. And we’re always happy to see some trees saved instead of done away with. All in all it went well. Many thanks to Shane Dewald of SDOT, Gary Wallinder from Port of Seattle and Ryan Thorne of MOWAT for all the help required to get this done on such quick notice!”

Ross Latham is the owner of Big Trees Inc. (http://www.bigtreesupply.com), located in Snohomish, WA, in the Seattle area. The company is one of the largest tree nurseries in the Seattle area with over 120,000 trees available in over 300 varieties. They not only can deliver young trees but also mature trees in a wide range of sizes. Some types of trees available include spring flowering, deciduous, evergreen, and privacy trees. The company also does tree transplanting including up to large trees. Their blog can be seen at http://www.bigtreesupply.com/blog/

Big Trees, Inc. Urges Homeowners To Transplant Trees In Their Landscape NOW

Tree Transplanting Company Gives Advices And Cautions On Transplanting Trees In Fall And Winter

SEATTLE, WA: The Northwest US tree transplanting specialists, Big Trees Inc. (http://www.bigtreesupply.com/) is urging home owners to transplant trees in their landscape now, and for a very pointed reason. They are providing their advice on this process as well as a few things to watch out for in transplanting a tree out of, into or to a different location in a landscape, whether home or commercial.

The company urges homeowners to transplant trees now because in late fall and winter trees are dormant, making the transplanting process ideal. The survivability of transplanted trees is highly dependent on the initial health of a tree, but this factor of the tree being dormant is definitely one of the bigger factors in ensuring a successful transplant that will look great in a landscape for years to come.  A tree transplanted in fall or winter will usually be more acclimated and produce more growth than one done closer to spring.

Ross Latham, founder of the company, stated: “The fall time is a great time to transplant existing trees in yours (or a client’s) landscape that have outgrown a space or are blocking a view. Or maybe you want to totally change the look of a mature landscape. Timing is one of the important considerations when you are planning a tree transplant. It is easier to transplant trees and shrubs when they are dormant. This is the period after the leaves turn in fall and before the spring growth begins. The fall time is a great time to transplant existing trees in yours (or a client’s) landscape that have outgrown a space or are blocking a view. Or maybe you want to totally change the look of a mature landscape. If you have questions about transplanting, contact a professional tree transplanter. They will have a staff of knowledgeable horticulturists that can determine the likelihood of a successful transplant.”

Tree Transplanting Specialist Company Announces Latest Arrivals

Big Trees, Inc. Rounds Out Their Fall Line-Up Of New Arrivals Into Their Nursery

SEATTLE, WA: Located just south of the town of Snohomish, 30 minutes north of downtown Seattle, is the Big Trees, Inc. (http://www.bigtreesupply.com/) nursery. They are announcing the latest arrivals to their line-up of trees available to be transplanted this coming Fall/Winter. A list of the nursery’s current available inventory roster can be found at http://bigtreesupply.com/sales-inventory/nursery-trees-inventory/

Three new ornamental arrivals have joined the Big Trees, Inc. nursery:

Paperbark Maple (Acer griseum): The Paperbark Maple is widely grown as an ornamental plant in temperate regions. It is admired for its decorative, rust colored exfoliating bark, translucent pieces of which often stay attached to the branches until worn away. It also has spectacular autumn foliage which can include red, orange and pink tones.

Dogwoods (Cornus): Dogwoods are widely planted horticulturally for their ornamental values, and the dense wood of the larger-stemmed species is valued for certain specialized purposes. Their flowers can be flat petals of color in mid-spring from white, creamy white and pink.  Dogwoods have simple, untoothed leaves with the veins curving distinctively as they approach the leaf margins. Their small size provides a variety of uses in the landscape, and their appeal extends throughout the year.

Stewartia: An excellent medium-sized tree for all-seasons appeal. Often multi-trunked or low-branching, it has white flowers, similar to Camellia but smaller in scale, which appear in early summer.  Its deep green leaves turn blazing red, yellow and purple in the fall. Beautiful exfoliating bark in shades of orange and gray becomes more pronounced as the tree matures.

According to Ross Latham, founder of the company: “These trees would be an excellent addition to most landscapes, and the timing is perfect because when these trees are dormant, in the fall and winter, is the best time to plant them. You should consult a tree transplanting specialist before attempting to plant one.”

California Contemporary Ballet Presents “The Snow Queen” Ballet’s 14th Season

Isabella Bunting of Glendale, CA Performs Lead Role Of Princess; Guest Performer from Hungary Added To Cast

Isabella Bunting (Glendale, CA) and Nick Zerman (Altadena, CA) prepare for their roles as The Prince and Princess in California Contemporary Ballet's "The Snow Queen" at Glendale Community College Theater.La Cañada, CA (November 25, 2011) The series of rehearsals for California Contemporary Ballet’s “The Snow Queen” Ballet (www.snowqueenballet.com) have been underway for over five hours, and for Isabella Bunting of Glendale, her most challenging rehearsal of the day lays ahead of her. When director Erin Holt enters the rehearsal studio, Bunting dutifully ties her Pointe shoe ribbons and tests her weight while balancing on her toes. With flaming red hair and a presence that suggests a level of maturity well beyond her thirteen years, Bunting is about to perform one of the most challenging roles in the ballet, a delightful holiday favorite performed to sold-out audiences in Glendale for the past thirteen years. This year’s Snow Queen performances will be on December 16, 17, and 18 at the Glendale Community College Theater.

The role of Princess is normally performed by one of the professional ballerinas employed by the Company each year. In fact, many advanced and professional-level dancers auditioned for the coveted role this year. However, Holt explains, “Since this is an original ballet with new choreography, we usually teach the role to a professional just as we would to a student. Isabella is working hard and proving that she can handle the challenging role. She is light and she works extremely well with her partner Nick."

Reprising the role of Prince for a second year to Isabella’s Princess is Nicholas Zerman of Altadena. He effortlessly lifts Bunting high above his head in a spin and then gently places her back onto her toes. “It’s a difficult lift, but we’ll get it”, he says with a wide grin.

As the production’s choreographer and Artistic Director, Holt has faced many challenges during the 14-year run of the ballet at Glendale Community College. Many professional dancers seek out opportunities to perform in the myriad of Nutcracker productions, rather than face the challenges of learning new choreography required for an original ballet. After all, most Nutcracker variations are an integral part of the training curriculum offered in ballet schools around the nation, so good ballet dancers are already familiar with many sections of the Nutcracker before ever stepping into rehearsal. This certainly makes rehearsals faster for the dancer and easier for a director to produce.

However, this previous familiarity is clearly not the case for any dancer who chooses to audition for “The Snow Queen,” where all of the choreography is new and the roles are unknown. Holt states “Some dancers are intimidated by the vast amount of new material they have to learn and some dancers just don’t feel they have the time to dedicate to the learning process”. Still, Holt boasts that the Company gets plenty of interest from professional talent looking for new opportunities. “We offer dancers the rare opportunity to be involved with something new.”

This year joining the cast is professional dancer, Zsolt Banki recently arrived in California from Hungary, where he was a graduate of the Hungarian Dance Academy and was voted Best Hungarian Dancer in 2007. He was the lead choreographer for the popular show “So You Think You Can Dance”, which actually originated in Hungary. This season, he joins “The Snow Queen” performing the principal roles of Reindeer and the Crow. He will also be seen as a gypsy. States Mr. Banki “I enjoy living in Los Angeles very much and am learning a great deal about American culture. I particularly like the California Contemporary Ballet’s version of “The Snow Queen”, as it is a very popular story in Hungary.” Mr. Banki will appear in all four performances.

Since its inception, California Contemporary Ballet has attempted to plant the seeds of a new tradition by integrating a cast of professional career talent with well trained, pre-professional dancers from the Company’s youth division.

With a beautiful original musical score composed by Randall Michael Tobin and set against a beloved Hans Christian Andersen story, audiences have the chance to meet a young girl and boy with lessons to learn, exotic creatures performing aerial ballet, gymnastic gypsies, forest animals such as reindeer and crows, and magical characters such as an enchantress and guardian angel. With a supporting chorus that includes an array of characters, from snowflakes and rivers, to flowers and trees, the cast numbers a total of 60 performers.

Bunting admits that she was initially apprehensive about her new role. However, once she dedicated herself to the challenge, she became determined. While watching the couple rehearse, Holt observed, “It was important to them that they be cast together. They wanted to impress and make it happen. They earned their roles”.

Recognizing that the roles of Prince and Princess are so demanding, Bunting and Zerman have committed to daily rehearsals until the opening of the show in mid-December. Holt decided to follow a precedent established by a well-known choreographer. George Balanchine was famous for challenging his young, talented dancers, as evidenced in his famous “Baby Ballerinas”, when he thrust young teenagers into the performing spotlight. This has only added fuel to Holt’s enthusiasm. “There is something truly impressive about a thirteen year old who can handle such difficult professional level choreography.”

The Snow Queen” by California Contemporary Ballet will be performed at Glendale Community College on Friday, December 16 at 7:30pm; Saturday, December 17 at 2:00pm and 7:30pm; and Sunday, December 18 at 2:00pm. Tickets can be purchased at www.snowqueenballet.com. Tickets purchased in advance: $25 for adults, $20 for child; tickets purchase at the door: $30 for adults, $25 for child. Group rates available. Call Brown Paper Tickets at 1-800-838-3006. For more information, call California DanceArts 818-790-7924.

California Contemporary Ballet, (http://www.calballet.com) established by Erin Holt, the company’s visionary Choreographer and Artistic Director, is one of Southern California’s burgeoning dance companies. The company is established as a professional company featuring the talent of 5-7 career dancers performing a unique brand of classical and contemporary dance works. They are a non-profit company, providing its members with the opportunity to perform an exciting repertory of innovative and original dance projects performed in concerts, theatre and festivals throughout Southern California. California Contemporary Ballet is the resident troupe of the California DanceArts Academy (http://www.caldancearts.com) located in the foothills of Los Angeles. The school and company share one goal, "to nurture and encourage students professionally and to develop artists performing for audiences with the creativity, imagination and joy of dance." The company’s annual signature ballet titled, “The Snow Queen”, (http://www.snowqueenballet.com) is a delightful winter production each December starring the career members of California Contemporary Ballet, accompanied by the California Contemporary Youth Ballet, and select dancers from the community, resulting in a cast of 60-70 dancers.

Julian Construction Recommends Use Of Helical Piles For Foundations

Company Seeks To Raise Awareness Of Repairing Home Foundation Construction Difficulties

LOS ANGELES, CA: Julian Construction Inc. (http://www.julianconstruction.com/) seeks to raise awareness of home owners to the importance of the necessity of home foundation repairs, foundation construction or older structures requiring maintenance. The company is recommending the use of helical piles for some structures that could greatly assist a foundation requiring retrofitting maintenance.

screw or helical pile graphicThe purpose of a foundation is to support and spread the weight of the structure that sits on top of it. A foundation can become damaged due to poor soil conditions, moisture and foliage. Foundation problems can lead to cracks in walls and tiles, bowed walls and sloping floors. It can even become difficult to open and shut windows and doors. One solution to stabilizing foundations is the installation of helical piles, also referred to as screw piles. A helical pile is a steel shaft with blades attached in a spiral pattern, similar to a wood screw. The pile is attached at the foundation on one end, and screwed into the ground on the other. Not only do they stabilize a structure, they can also increase load bearing capacities in a retrofit.

Julian De La Torre was stated the following regarding the procedure: “Many people do not realize their foundation sometimes needs repair. It is something that needs to be inspected. Helical piles are a good solution for a home needing foundation retrofitting, because they are not very expensive, the installation can be fast and they are very strong, with a high load capacity. People should get their home inspected to see if their foundation is safe.”

Julian Construction Shares Tips For Maintaining A Foundation

Foundation Construction And Repair Company Urges Keeping Foundation In Good Condition

LOS ANGELES, CA: Julian Construction Inc. (http://www.julianconstruction.com/) deals with homes cracked concreteneeding foundation repair. Upon observing many instances of foundation structural damage , the company is issuing advice on foundation maintenance, and urging that homeowners act to keep their foundation in good condition.

1. Ensure proper drainage. Water should always be directed away from the house. Use gutters and drain spouts to prevent water from accumulating on the roof, running down walls or pooling near the building. Also make sure the ground around the house is graded to slope away from the structure. If necessary, install moisture barriers and drainage channels to prevent water from seeping into your home.

2. Repair any plumbing problems. Moisture build-up from dripping faucets, toilets and pipes can also cause foundation problems. Periodically inspect your plumbing and immediately repair any leaks. Also check sprinkler systems and sewer lines.

3. Keep soil moisture at a constant level. Soil can expand with moisture and contract when it dries, causing settlement problems. Water the soil around your home during dry periods to keep moisture levels consistent with soil under your foundation.

4. Install a root barrier. If there are trees or shrubs planted near your home, install a barrier to prevent roots from growing under the foundation. Make sure any new trees or foliage is planted far enough away from the structure to avoid root problems in the future. Also remove any mulch that accumulates near the house.

5. Weatherproof you home. Properly sealing your house will also prevent damage from moisture and air. This includes plugging any existing holes and cracks, caulking and weatherstripping.

Julian De La Torre, founder of the company, stated: “Many people do not realize how important it is to maintain their foundation, or do not know how they can do this. Doing so will prevent structural damage and keep their home safe.”

Novel Editor Examines Elements Of Successfully Written Memoirs

Susan Mary Malone Takes Critical View Of Memoirs As A Genre In Book Writing

Susan Mary MaloneDALLAS, TX: Book Editor Susan Mary Malone (http://www.maloneeditorial.com) recently published a critical examination of the process for writers wishing to pen their memoirs. She advises writers to be aware of the difference between a life history and a memoir. The article can be found here: http://www.maloneeditorial.com/blog/?p=145

Malone, editor of over 40 books published through traditional publishing companies, advises that anyone seeking to write their memoirs needs to consider three very basic points before beginning the manuscript and throughout the writing. She also covers points having to do with the theme of the work, writing style and characterization. She stresses that these must be looked at, regardless of the content of the person’s story, in order to make a commercially successful memoir.

Malone states: “Ever since ‘Angela’s Ashes’ hit the scene (some sixteen years ago), the Memoir genre has been hot. And I get a lot of them, especially in this day of POD and e-books, where self-publishing is so easy, and so inexpensive. But one’s life story, no matter how tangled with twists and turns, how fraught with trials and tribulations, does not necessarily make for a compelling memoir. The genre itself is about something different.”

Susan Mary Malone has worked as an editor, columnist and journalist since 1993, with a BS in Political Science and minors in English and Journalism. She has a client list that includes NY Times Bestsellers, Essence Bestsellers and books featured in Publishers Weekly. She is also an award-winning author of fiction and non-fiction herself. She participates as a speaker in literary conferences such as the recent Harriett Austin Writer's Conference (at the University of Georgia), the Blue Ridge Writer's Conference, the South West Writer's Conference, and the recent East Texas Writer’s Guild Conference, among others. Aero & Marine Tax Pros Win Difficult Tax Exemption Case

Previously Exempt Plane Gets Taxed, Expert Tax Firm Able To Reverse Decision

King Air 200 AircraftSACRAMENTO, CA: Aero & Marine Tax Professionals (http://www.aeromarinetaxpros.com), a tax specialist firm in the field of aircraft and marine vessel tax located in California, reversed the finding recently in a California Board Of Equalization case against an aircraft being charged a tax that it was previously exempted from. The aircraft belonged to Rainbow Air Charter, who had previously worked with Aero & Marine Tax Professionals to obtain a tax exemption on the plane, and turned to the firm again in this recent turn of events.

The difficulty came about when a plane owned by the company was destroyed on the runway mid take off, which Rainbow Air Charter had attempted to gain a tax exemption on it, but they had been unsuccessful in their efforts. Upon discovering the fact that the plane was damaged beyond repair, the California Board of Equalization placed a tax lien on another plane the company owned, which had already received a tax exemption.

The company’s Director of Operations, Mr. Grimmet, stated: “From that point on, Aero & Marine Tax Professionals’ office asked me for various documents in order to obtain the exemption on the plane which was destroyed. So we had to go backwards and find an exemption on a plane that had been destroyed in order to take the lien off a plane that had been exempted.”

I can tell you that I made the attempt do the exemption myself. This was an example of why amateurs should not be attempting tax exemptions themselves. I had been trying. I had used Aero & Marine Tax Professionals over the last ten years, and I thought that I could do it myself. I didn't have the required expertise, even though it was entirely legitimate. I want to let everyone know about how Aero & Marine handled this for me, and if anyone wants to know more, I would be happy to talk to them.”

Thomas Alston, founder of the tax firm, stated: “It was a very tricky case. The state of California is looking hard for revenue and is taking a more aggressive stance with some of these cases. That’s why you need to go to the experts.”

Aero & Marine Tax Professionals Win Case For Tax Exemption On Jet

Real Estate Firm Gets Tax Exemption On Jet Thanks To Aero & Marine Tax Professionals

SACRAMENTO, CA: Aero & Marine Tax Professionals (http://www.aeromarinetaxpros.com), a firm specializing in sales tax on aircraft and marine vessels in the state of California, recently helped a real estate agent and real estate development company obtain a sales tax exemption on a Cessna jet from the California Board Of Equalization, this most recent case that maintains their perfect record.

Tom Alston, president of the company, stated: “Well, we pride ourselves on efficiency. That is really the difference between when we go in on a case versus someone who doesn’t know this field, doesn’t have experience working with the California Board Of Equalization. We have, so we can be efficient at it, and that’s why our case record is perfect.”

Tax Consulting Firm Earn Sales Tax Exemption for Company Continuing Perfect Record

SACRAMENTO, CA: Aero & Marine Tax Professionals (http://www.aeromarinetaxpros.com), a consulting firm specializing in aircraft and marine vessel sales tax exemptions in California, assisted a California based farmer in obtaining a sales tax exemption on their recent purchase of an aircraft.

An executive from the company stated: “We mainly use the plane for observation on the farm for our cotton, corn, alfalfa, tomatoes, and cantaloupe, we have 5000 acres. We don't use the aircraft for any application of chemicals or such; it's mainly a way to get around and do observations. One of the companies I grow melons for has an office in Arizona, and I travel there occasionally to go over contracts.”

“I really liked that Aero & Marine Tax Professionals was straight forward, they told me what to do. All I had to do was follow the rules and never get behind. Everyone did great follow up. Everyone was so easy to deal with. Whatever needed to be done got done with no nonsense. I would recommend Aero & Marine Tax Professionals to others.”

Tom Alston, founder of Aero & Marine Tax Professionals, said: “We now have under our record over 1,000 client cases that have successfully avoided paying any sales tax on the purchase of their aircraft. Our record is 100%, every single case we’ve taken up has earned a sales tax exemption. We achieve that because we are hard working professionals, and because we have the experience to know exactly what we’re doing. If you are looking at purchasing an aircraft, call me.”

Skin MD Natural - A Natural Dry Skin Care Product for Dry, Cracked Heels

After a summer of sandal abuse many are left with dry, cracked heels. Dry, cracked heels are an unsightly cosmetic problem that can turn into something worse without proper natural dry skin care. If left untreated cracks can become deeper, leading to bleeding and potential infection.

There are numerous natural dry skin care treatments on the market today, but many of them are not effective because they don’t address the main causes of dry skin. Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion (http://www.skinmdnatural.com) was created for just this reason. It is specially formulated to strengthen the skin's own natural protective barrier helping to prevent dryness being caused by environmental and chemical irritants. Dr. Lisa Benest, a board certified dermatologist from Burbank, California, explains why Skin MD Natural is becoming a leading dry skin care treatment product, “Regular moisturizers are designed to add moisture onto the skin. However, it does nothing to repair the barrier so it's an endless cycle of constant moisture application onto the skin without healing and curing the dry skin. Many traditional moisturizers restore the moisture to the skin on a temporary basis, but after continued use actually send a message back to the skin saying it doesn't need any further moisture to be produced by the skin, and so we can end up with the opposite condition where the skin is less hydrated than prior to using the moisturizers.”

If you are suffering from dry, cracked heels, Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion is a natural skin care treatment option you should further investigate. In less than a week Jessie started to experience softer feet, “After just a few days of using Skin MD Natural, I noticed that my skin did indeed felt more hydrated, especially my heels where the skin is rough, cracked and dry. They no longer have the dry and hard outer skin that always prompts me to peel the skin off, but instead, are on their way to full recovery and softer skin."

Some even compare Skin MD Natural to a good pedicure like Rachael Porter, “I noticed a difference in my heels immediately; they were much softer. After about 4 applications they were as good as a $30 pedi. My hands are also looking smooth and youthful!"

Skin MD Natural is soft as silk and never greasy, making it an ideal natural skin care option for your feet. Nadine Chappellaz likes Skin MD Natural for just this reason, "I have really sensitive feet, I don't like to wear socks, my feet get too hot, too cold etc. Lately, they have been so dry, it's actually painful. I had tried some regular lotions, nothing worked, and they just made my feet slick and we have all hardwoods, not a good combination!! I tried out the Skin MD Natural, and within minutes felt some relief. It's like a program, you start doing it every 2-4 hours until it feels better, then just every 24 hours. Works like a charm!! My feet were actually making me crazy before this, and now, I haven't given them a second thought."

Julian Construction Urges Homeowners Be Prepared For Earthquakes

Foundation Construction Company Urges More Readiness In Event Of An Earthquake

LOS ANGELES, CA: Julian Construction Inc. (http://www.julianconstruction.com), a foundation construction and repair company based in Southern California, is making an effort to raise awareness of the necessity for earthquake readiness for homeowners in their area, due to the unpredictability of activity of earthquakes.

Earthquake preparation is a large factor in security for homeowners. An unstable foundation can greatly increase the chance of risk if a quake hits.

According to the United States Geological Survey: “There's a 100 percent chance of an earthquake today. Though millions of persons may never experience an earthquake, they are very common occurrences on this planet. So today -- somewhere -- an earthquake will occur.” they also state “Since a major portion of the world's earthquakes each year center around the rim of the Pacific Ocean (Ring of Fire), referred to by seismologists as the circum-Pacific belt, this is the most probable location for today's earthquake.”

Due to the possibility of earthquakes hitting the L.A. area Julian Construction is recommending that homeowners get a foundation inspection to ensure their home is secure in the event of another earthquake.

Julian De La Torre, founder of the company, stated: “I was actually working with foundations before the Northridge quake hit back in 1994. I have seen what it’s like when the big one hits. And I’ve seen what it’s like when a home foundation is in need of repair versus one that has been inspected and strengthened against the danger of an earthquake. It’s the safe thing to do.”

Julian Construction owns its own company and is built on a “no middlemen” model – no salesmen, no subcontractors. When you work with Julian Construction you get the principals of the company and workers of Julian Construction under your home. The result is the highest quality work at affordable prices. They can be contacted by phone at 323 733-3377, by fax at 323 733-4477 or via their website, www.julianconstruction.com. Julian Construction Inc. Celebrates Their 10th Anniversary

Foundation Construction Company Reflects On Their Objectives Over The Last Ten Years

LOS ANGELES, CA: Julian Construction Inc. (http://www.julianconstruction.com) celebrates their 10th anniversary this year in the foundation repair and foundation construction business. On this occasion they take a moment to look at their company objectives in these past ten years.

Julian Construction has had as its basic focus the repair and construction of home foundations. Julian De La Torre, founder of the company, began doing earthquake retrofitting in the days before the Northridge earthquake of 1994, and his goal is to ensure that L.A. area homeowners and commercial property owners are prepared in the event of future earthquake strikes. His partner, Shawn Kyles, has inspected over 15,000 structures over the course of his career.

Another objective of Julian’s is for their clients to not have to deal with a middle man, salesmen, or subcontractors. Their intention is that property owners can work directly with their company and thus can get the foundation services they need at an affordable price.

Julian stated: “It’s really great looking back at all of the people we have helped, making their homes more secure. I think the next ten years will be even better and we’ll be able to help even more people have peace of mind knowing their properties are as safe as possible.”

Aero & Marine Tax Professionals Helps Flight Instructor Obtain Sales Tax Exemption on Airplane

Tax Consulting Firm Helps Obtain Sales Tax Exemption On Amphibious Aircraft

SACRAMENTO, CA: Aero & Marine Tax Professionals (http://www.aeromarinetaxpros.com), a tax consulting firm, recently helped obtain a sales tax exemption for their client, Max Trescott, the 2008 National Flight Instructor of the Year and owner of Glass Cockpit Publishing, on the purchase of a Lake LA-4-200 amphibian airplane. The company is a specialist in aircraft and marine vehicle sales tax exemption in state of the California.

The instructor, Max Trescott, stated: “Tom Alston helped me obtain an exemption for my first aircraft eleven years ago, so I thought I understood the current rules. However, the regulations changed since my first purchase and I didn’t fully understand the changes. So I contacted Tom Alston again and he and his staff were quick to help me understand the current rules and the documentation needed. The savings will help fund some of the upgrades to the plane that I’m contemplating.”

Tom Alston commented, “Well there are very few companies out there that know the field as well as we do and have the contacts where it counts. We know the tax codes in this area backwards and forwards, and that includes keeping up with the changes as the years go by. You have to factor in the new laws passed each year. Well, actually you don’t, because that’s our job. We study each new piece of legislation as it comes out and stay fully familiarized with every aspect of obtaining a sales tax exemption on an aircraft or marine vessel. And that’s why we’ve never lost a case.”

Natural Skin Care Product Skin MD Natural Prevents Winter Dry Skin

Fall is underway and winter is fast approaching. Now that cooler weather has arrived, there is a new source for dry skin in indoor heating. Cold weather prompts the use of indoor heaters which take their toll on skin, causing it to become dry and itchy. Dry skin is a result of not having enough moisture in the stratum corneum (the outermost layer of skin) for it to function as it should. This can happen when protective oils in the stratum corneum are lost. These oils can be stripped away by environmental irritants such as water, wind or hot dry air and chemical irritants found in soaps, cosmetics, and antibacterial products.

21st Century Formulations has designed a natural skin care product, Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion (http://www.skinmdnatural.com), that addresses the causes of dry skin. Dr. Brian Zogg, a certified dermatologist in Albert Lea, Minnesota explains why he recommends Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion over other moisturizers to battle dry skin during winter, "When your skin gets dry and itchy in winter you know that the protective outer layer of skin has been stripped away. Artificial moisturizers in conventional creams and lotions can send a signal to the moisture producing parts of your skin that enough moisture is present. Your skin then makes less of the natural moisture needed to resolve a dry skin problem. With a shielding lotion you replace the outer layer and protect the natural oils and moisture in your skin, so it heals faster."

Natural skin care products are becoming more and more popular these days and have many brands rushing to add natural ingredients to their product lines. 21st Century Formulations realized the importance of natural skin care early on and have been making their products with over 93 % natural ingredients since the introduction of Skin MD Natural. This has gained Skin MD Natural popularity with dermatologists and families. Staci Albright, a mom from Pennsylvania shares why Skin MD Natural is her natural skin care product of choice during colder winter months, "All winter long, I fight dry skin. Between chilly winds and heaters going full tilt, my skin is cracked and painful from November to March. I've tried tons of lotions, but have disliked most of them. With sensitive skin, many lotions either cause rashes or make my skin feel like its on fire.

"Between work and being a mom, I am constantly washing my hands, so they have become incredibly dry. However, after using Skin MD, I was able to see a noticeable difference. My skin not only felt smoother, it also felt moisturized. No more itchy, scratchy, scaly hands.

"One thing that really made me love Skin MD was the fact that it was not greasy at all. I hate lotions that make my hands feel slimy, and Skin MD did the exact opposite. It left my skin smooth and soft. Skin MD definitely carries through on its promise that it exceptionally enhances your skins hydrating and protective abilities, we love it!"
