Nevada Credit Company Receives Tax Exemption on Airplane

Aero & Marine Tax Professionals Helps Right Away Auto Credit Company Obtain Sales Tax Exemption on Hawker Beech G36 Bonanza Airplane

SACRAMENTO, CA: Aero & Marine Tax Professionals, (http://aeromarinetaxpros.com/) a tax firm specializing in aircraft and marine vessel tax consulting, recently helped a Nevada credit company, Right Away Auto Credit, obtain sales tax exemption on the purchase of a 2008 Hawker Beech G36 Bonanza airplane. The company faced paying a California sales tax despite having no operations in California, but thanks to the efforts of Aero & Marine Tax Professionals a sales tax exemption was granted by the California Board of Equalization (BOE).

An executive from the company stated: “I got a letter from the California Board of Equalization stating that I owed them sales tax. We'd probably gotten two or three letters that we had thrown away, like I'm sure many people do. We're not California residents, never have been and don't do business in California. We thought it was ludicrous. We wrote a response or two back to them and after a year or so we realized that this wasn't going to go away. That's when we called AOPA and they referred us to Aero & Marine. On a scale of 1 to 10 working with Aero & Marine Tax Professionals was a 10+. My consultant was awesome. I loved working with her. She was great. She always remembered me. I highly recommend Aero & Marine. Very professional. I had purchased an aircraft out of California prior to this, so I think that was how I got on BOE's radar. Let me close with this: I really enjoyed working with Aero & Marine Tax Professionals. I would absolutely recommend them to others.”

Tom Alston, owner and founder of Aero & Marine Tax Professionals, stated: “It is not an uncommon case, to have a company based in another state charged with California sales tax when they purchase a plane. We’ve seen it time and again, even with companies such as this one who have no operations in California at all. Overall the transaction went very well, no problems from start to finish.”

Aero & Marine Tax Professionals shows purchasers how to avoid aircraft sales tax and vessel tax in California and to make certain the full value of their next aircraft, vehicle or vessel goes into their pocket--not the government's. They have successfully filed hundreds of tax returns with the California State Board of Equalization. Mr. Alston has also published many articles on sales and use tax.
